Visual Arts Portfolio & Audition Criteria 

Below is the audition criteria for 2D and 3D students who are entering the company.

 On the day of the scheduled audition, it is required that each student bring:

•  A portfolio containing at least five (5) pieces of original 2-dimensional

 artwork done from direct observation, including a self-portrait, a

landscape, a still-life, a figure drawing, and an abstraction, demonstrating various media.

•  Your Personal Sketchbook(s) with your sketches, ideas, and thoughts.

•  A one page essay on "What inspires you to make art and why do you want to be apart of MP's Visual Art Group and/or Art Exhibitions?"

•  A letter of recommendation from a current art teacher/counselor/mentor. (Required)

*We understand that all students may not have an opportunity to take art classes. In addition, the student will be asked to demonstrate the ability to draw from life during the audition.

Note: Each student will be interviewed to determine their general knowledge of visual arts & techniques and overall interest in advanced art.
